Privacy Policy

In short

TestGate IOQ is designed to keep your inspection work on your device. The app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or anyone else. Everything you create — projects, findings, photos, reports — stays on your phone or tablet until you choose to export it.

What information the app handles

When you use TestGate IOQ you may enter or capture:

• Project information you type in: project name, site, date, inspector name, vendor, reference, scope.
• Inspection findings you record: descriptions, severity, suggested actions, dates.
• Photographs you capture with your device's camera or pick from your gallery.
• Branding details (Pro only): company name, address, company number, VAT number, logo image, brand colour.
• Configuration: your customised checklists, sections, and asset types.

None of this is transmitted off your device by the app.

Where the information is stored

All of the above is stored locally on your device, inside the app's own private storage area. Specifically:

• Configuration and the active inspection metadata are stored in the app's web storage (localStorage).
• Projects, findings, and photographs are stored in the app's local database (IndexedDB).
• Reports you export (PDF, Word, Excel, project zip) are written to your device's Downloads/TestGate/ folder, where you can manage them like any other file.

The app's local data is excluded from Google's automatic cloud backup, so it is not copied to your Google account.

What information we collect

None. We do not operate any servers, accounts, or analytics. We have no visibility into how you use the app or what data you create with it. We do not receive crash reports or usage statistics.

What information we share

None. Because we receive none, we share none. The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, no analytics frameworks, and no tracking technologies.

If you choose to export a report or project file and send it to a colleague, customer, or cloud storage provider, that action is yours; the recipient and storage provider's terms apply, not ours.

Permissions and how the app uses them

• Camera - used only when you tap "Add photo" inside an inspection and choose to take a new photo. Photos go directly into the inspection's local storage; nothing is sent anywhere.
• Photos / Media - used only when you tap "Add photo" and choose to pick an existing image from your gallery.
• Storage (older Android versions only) - used to write exported reports to your Downloads folder.
• Internet - declared in the app manifest because Android's WebView component requires it, but the app itself does not make any network requests. The app loads only the HTML and JavaScript bundled inside it. Tapping an external link (for example in a report) opens it in your normal web browser, not inside the app.

Children

TestGate IOQ is a professional inspection tool for adults working in equipment installation and commissioning. It is not intended for children and is not directed at users under 18. It does not collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to give you, correct, or delete on our side. You remain in full control of the data the app stores on your device:

• View or edit: open the project or section in the app.
• Delete one project: use the in-app project delete action.
• Delete everything: uninstall the app, or use Android's Settings → Apps → TestGate → Storage → Clear data.

If you would prefer that exported reports already on your device be removed, delete them from your Downloads/TestGate/ folder using your device's file manager.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in future, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, include a summary of what changed. Continued use of the app after a policy update means you accept the updated policy.
